Transmission Planning Engineer
**Summary of Responsibilities:** Bring your positive energy to ATC! We're looking for a Transmission Planning Engineer to be part of our collaborative team that assesses the present and future needs of the electrical grid. As part of our team, you’ll use electrical system models to determine the best approaches to helping the industry transition from reliance on traditional forms of generation to clean renewable resources, energy storage, and other types of emerging technologies and large loads. **Essential Responsibilities:** ATC employees enjoy flexible schedules and ATC is recognized as an industry leader in adopting new technologies and types of reliability analysis, such as electromagnetic transient analysis, to assure the reliable transition to sustainable resources. You’ll use your bachelor’s or advanced degree in electrical engineering (or related degree) and/or experience in transmission system planning to help new resources and loads connect to the system by coordinating with interconnection customers, validating modeling data, forecasting transmission system issues, and collaborating on solutions to optimize transmission system reliability and efficiency. In addition to the previously described job duties, this position will have a focus on modeling of the transmission system for system planning purposes. This will include, but is not limited to, creation and maintenance of dynamic models and associated contingency files, project files, and management of relevant data for the equipment, devices, and resources being modeled. This also includes working within the modeling policies and processes of ATC and our key modeling stakeholders such as MISO and the MMWG. ATC embraces flexibility in our work and our workplace.
