Transplant Psychologist - Royal Oak

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Transplant Center in collaboration with the system's Behavioral Health division is seeking to hire a fulltime clinical psychologist to join their team. This position will be dedicated to caring for patients in the kidney and liver transplant programs.

The ideal candidate would have a clinical health psychology background and enjoy being part of a multidisciplinary team treating patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

With over 50 years of transplantation experience, we have successfully assembled a world-class team of surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, anesthesiologists, imaging and critical care specialists to provide care to patients with end stage kidney and liver disease. The transplant programs at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital consistently rank among the highest quality transplant programs in the nation.  The transplant team tailors treatment to individual patients and their specific circumstances which equates to better outcomes and greater patient satisfaction.

Provides diagnostic and therapeutic psychological interventions for patients treated in the hospital or ambulatory setting. Acts as a resource to team members related to psychological issues and the development of a team intervention approach, where appropriate.

Essential FunctionsPerforms diagnostic examinations of the patient’s intellectual and psychological functioning and adjustments to the disability/illness within 24 hours of receipt of consult.Collaborates with the patient, physician, and members of the multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans and goals consistent with the needs of the patient.Performs individual and group treatment interventions in a manner, which meets the standards of the profession and changing needs of the patient.Documents plans, interventions and patient’s response/involvement according to standards.Identifies and documents discharge plans which meet the needs of the patient and are consistent with resources available.Participates in ongoing quality monitoring, policy review, and process improvement activities related to Psychology services.Maintains updated knowledge of rules, regulations, and standards in the field of psychology and related matters of interest.Ensures that patients, their families, visitors, customers, and employees are treated with kindness and respect. Demonstrates teamwork and integrity in all work-related activities. Ensures that work-performed supports Corewell Health’s mission of Superior Quality Care.Pre-transplant evaluations and post-transplant follow-up care for adult kidney, adult liver and adult kidney living donor patients in the inpatient and outpatient settingIndividual therapySupport GroupTransplant Patient Selection Committee participation

Qualifications

Required Doctorate Ph.D or PsyD in PsychologyExperience working in an organization of a size and complexity comparable to Corewell Health is preferredLIC-Psychologist - STATE_MI State of Michigan requiredCRT-Board Cert Clinical Psychology (BC-CP) preferred
