Job DescriptionDue to continued growth, an exciting opportunity is now available for a Transport Administrator to join our team in Washington on a full time 12 month fixed term contract.
As a Transport Administrator you will liaise with drivers and subcontractors to dispatch, track and monitor deliveries to ensure timely delivery to customer locations and ensure accurate reporting in line with all legal, compliance and company procedures.
Salary: £25,000-£27,000 per annum.
Working Hours: 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm.
Key Duties of a Transport Administrator:
Ensuring the timely dispatch of drivers at front desk.Tracking all deliveries from the depot to customer locations.Issuing, checking and signing required driver paperwork upon leaving depot.Ensuring the transport team and customers are informed of late or delayed deliveries using the relevant contact method (automated electronic, email and telephone).Debriefing drivers upon return to depot.Completing accident, incident and near-miss reporting paperwork.Providing support to drivers for call-outs and breakdowns.Supporting drivers in completing the defect procedure.Building and maintaining Automatic System Notifications (ASN’s).Compiling and sending daily DOT reports and KPI’s to internal and external customers.Checking and collating driver timesheets and downloading Tacho cards on a daily basis.POD management.QualificationsProven experience within a similar transport management position in FMCG environment is desirable. Basic knowledge and experience of tachographs, driving rules and regulations.Ability to effectively prioritise workloads in order to meet set deadlines.Have a professional and approachable character to ensure smooth running of the general operation.Be customer service driven with strong negotiating skills and the ability to influence and steer.Good IT skills including MS Office with a high level of numeracy and a keen eye for detail.Additional InformationAs part of our drive to make Fowler Welch a great place to work.
