The role is based in Manila office. 

Your role in our team 

Will be expected to lead the Transport Planning team and take responsibility in growing the team and delivering projects including resource management and commercial performance. You will provide project management and technical support on a variety of projects which may include individual site developments, development master plans and large-scale transport infrastructure schemes.   Will need to use your transport planning and other skills to develop design proposals, analyse options, develop implementation strategies and assess benefits and impacts. You will maintain a strategic overview of the local business assigned to you and ensure that Arup is positioned to bid for identified opportunities.  Will also be expected to develop external business networks and proactively seek opportunities to project Arup’s brand and capability to assist the development and positioning of Arup’s business in the country.  Will need to be familiar with the wider development planning process so that you can advise our clients in supporting development applications. You will have experience in planning and designing for all transport modes, interchange activity and the creation of public realm areas.  Will also need to be able to work collaboratively with wider multi-disciplinary design and planning teams.  You will also be willing to learn new skills and committed to developing your own career and supporting junior colleagues in their own development.  You will also be involved in supporting other regional projects throughout Southeast Asia focusing on urban transport, public transport, and active mobility

 

Is this role right for you?

Degree in relevant discipline ( e.g tansport planning, civil engineering, urban planning etc)  Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution  Energetic and outgoing leader that is both a “doer” and someone that can inspire the team to meet deadlines/expectations  10-15 years’ experience in transport planning and engineering for developments and transport infrastructure schemes.  5 -10 years’ experience in project management and client facing roles, leading teams and mentoring staff to perform, excel and improve, and business development (including formulating proposals and strategies to win work)  Experience of engagement with local government authorities, developers and the public  Experience in multimodal transport planning and engineering including for walking and cycling, public transport, and roads, particularly at the conceptual planning stage, including traffic impact assessment and development planning  Experience in traffic engineering and design, simulation / modeling, and low emissions technology and e-mobility a plus  Experience of working within multi-disciplinary professional teams including architects, planning and engineering advisors.  Excellent report writing, oral communication and interpersonal skills. 

Desirable:  

Masters degree in relevant discipline (e.g. transport planning).  Previous experience in a consultancy environment.
