Purpose: 

The Transport Lead is an integral member of the Supply Chain team with the core focus of managing the performance of the transport functions and team members. This is done via effective management of our 3rd party transport providers and ensuring service levels are maintained, cost to serve is optimal, logistics controls and compliance through the chain are met.

This position reports to our Transport Manager and will be aligned to our Personal Care business unit (IPC).

Job Description

Managing the transport operations within budget expectations to ensure effective service to our customers whilst delivering end to end cost targets

Creating and maintaining positive partnerships with 3PL transport providers with regular performance reviews against agreed service and costs.

Identifying and supporting operational improvements in the network and execution of transport that reduce cost and optimises truck utilizations and runs

Working closely with the DC’s to optimise the transport plans and maintain the plan

Key contact for all suppliers and Agents for transport related matters

Minimise company risk and maintain compliance in area of environment, and health and safety

Performance management of 3rd party service providers to agreed safety, service, cost and team performance standards

Implementation and management of KCA operating systems and B2B processes relating to the supply chain

Work cross functionally to drive cost savings initiatives surrounding warehouse and freight labour

Invoice compliance and reconciliations are completed and validated

Management and accuracy of carrier rates into the KCA system to ensure accurate payments

Escalation point for claims and credits to ensure timely revenue recognition for customer deliveries

Improving and maintaining strong OTIF performance

Collaboration with key customers to support end to end supply chains projects

Collaborations with key customers to meet their delivery requirements and commercial agreements as it relates to transport.

Management of KCA visibility systems (FourKites) to ensure delivery conformation and transport related data

Management of team performance and ensuring KPI’s are met

Coach and develop team members

CoR compliance for all KCA carriers

Requirements

Extensive operational experience in warehouse and transportation management

Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or related business discipline

Experience with warehouse and distribution environments

An understanding of the fulfilment process including customer service

Analytical and process minded & Collaborative approach to problem solving.

Sound decision making skills & a sense of urgency in resolving issues

ERP logistics management (SAP preferred)
