Transport planner

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement transport planning solutions for environmentally sensitive and exciting sites. Create detailed plans, drawings, and models using relevant 2D and 3D software. Collaborate with architects, urban designers, engineers, and city planners to ensure cohesive and sustainable designs. Conduct research and analysis on transportation systems, land use, and zoning regulations. Prepare and present detailed reports and proposals to clients and stakeholders. Integrate sustainability principles into all transport planning projects. Work on sustainable urban transport, integrated transport strategies, and multi-modal transport hubs. Develop walking and cycling plans to promote active transportation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BE Civil) or Architecture (B.Arch) from a reputed institute. Master’s degree in Transport Planning from a reputed institute in India or abroad. Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, VISSIM, SYNCHRO, and ArcGIS etc. Strong visual communication and presentation skills. Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other professionals. Knowledge of zoning regulations and land use policies. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Experience working with reputed international design firms would be an advantage. Previous experience in sustainable urban transport, integrated transport strategies, and multi-modal transport hubs. Experience in developing walking and cycling plans.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional licensure in civil engineering or a related field. Experience of working in a reputed international engineering or design firm. LEED, IGBC accreditation would be an advantage. Membership with Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) or Transport Planning Society (TPS) would be an advantage.
