Need something exciting, that’s going to keep you on your toes? We are looking for an Transport Specialist (Planning) for our customer site in Portbury! As a Transport Specialist you’ll be supporting in delivering day to day transport operation tasks.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
Operations
Scheduling and allocating of deliveries for both XPO core fleet (40+ daily) and external hauliers (50+ daily). Building relationships with Third Party hauliers and internal XPO sites Maximising driver and vehicle utilisation. Monitor vehicle delivery progress in real time. Monitor driver performance and variances in expected driver’s hours, breaks, POA’s and route deviations. Provide customer ETA’s, haulier, and supplier communication. Provide support and assist in the debriefing of LGV Drivers and processing applicable admin and compliance paperwork.
Service Levels
Ensuring deliveries are made on time. Reporting of any late deliveries to the customer. Communicate as necessary with the Management Team/Customer, on all matters that may affect service levels or impact on other operations.
Additional Tasks
Assisting in booking in and dispatching of both XPO core fleet (40+ daily) and external hauliers (50+ daily). Ensure full compliance with company policy and procedures. To undertake any relevant training events in line with own personal development needs and business requirements To undertake any other reasonable task as required.
Experience required:
Demonstrable transport planning and driver management experience. Experience of collaborating closely with a customer, preferably on a customer site Good geographical knowledge Able to challenge poor performance and communicate effectively.
