Transportation Aide

Description:Come join the Centralized Transport team at Saint Mary's Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to our communities.

Position Purpose:

Transporting patients to and from treatment areas via wheelchair, stretchers, or beds. Maintains transport equipment including O2 cylinders and regulators. Requires lifting, pushing, and pulling stretchers and wheelchairs.

What you will do:

Transport patients to and from nursing care units.Maintain hospital Infection Control policies.Supports the hospital Safety initiatives.Use the IVR Tele – Tracking Technology properly 100% of the time.Responds to Transport Trip requests within 5 minutes form dispatch.Maintains a pleasant and professional attitude and appearance.Identifies self when addressing patients, families, visitors, co-workers, medical professionals, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, with ability to understand and speak English at a level that allows for the safe and efficient performance of the job.Good interpersonal and communication skills required.Knowledge of using slide boards to move patients from bed to stretchers preferred.
