As Transportation Back-end developer you will be developing breakthrough Analytics Insights by combining business acumen with an in-depth data understanding. These insights will be used by the broader Transportation team and its business partners (Facility Business Resources, Facility Supply Chain Managers, Material Planners, Material Buyers....) in their quest for answers to business related questions. These can be from an operational and/or financial nature, but always in one way or the other, linked to the Transportation activities. Thus, the Back-end developer will play a key role being part of the global team and contributing to the analytics journey of Caterpillar. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :** + End-to-end ETL processes, including Monitoring and analysis of information and data systems to evaluate their performance and discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.) + Data management in Oracle and Snowflake, including quality assurance, enforcing policies for effective data management, formulating management techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data + Maintenance of existing Power BI dashboards **BACKGROUND /EXPERIENCE :** + Master/Bachelor’s level degree (in Computer Science or other disciplines, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Applications, Statistics, …) from a college or university, or equal qualification in experience + 1-2 years of experience in a data analytics/business intelligence role + knowledge of SQL (experience with Oracle and/or Snowflake is a plus) + Strong experience with ETL processes, design and principles + Experience with BI Tools (preferably Power BI or Tableau) + MS Office (Power Point, Word, Excel, Access) + Have excellent written and verbal communication in English Desired Qualifications: + Knowledge of tools within Power Platform, mainly Power Automate and Power Apps + Experience with development on SharePoint Online + Experience with Alteryx The ideal candidate should: + Have deep interest in technology, data analysis and supply chain + Be able to lead business conversations and transform business requirements into technical requirements + Be curious and continuously looking for ways of improving ongoing processes + Have strong interpersonal skills and adopt a collaborative work style + Understand multi-cultural differences Skill Descriptors Level Working Knowledge: • Works to resolve obstacles related to goals of own department. • Documents regulatory and reporting requirements. • Assesses situations based on awareness of the goals and operating issues of own department. • Seeks guidance when assigned goals conflict with departmental goals or overall strategy. • Carries out responsibilities that contribute to role of own department within the organization.
