Transportation Asistant Manager

The Transportation Assistant Manager is responsible for maintaining and developing consistency towards service excellence with the transportation supervisory team as well as assisting with various department wide tasks as a support for the department manager. Fosters adherence to Jamul Casino’s guest service standards by working closely with staff and team members to ensure timely, efficient and quality delivery of Valet services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Responsible for the efficient operation of the Valet function ensuring 100% guest satisfaction.

• Supervises the day-to-day activities with an emphasis on supervisory team consistency and accountability across all shifts

• Enters information via Kronos for payroll processing as needed

• Utilization of CVPS to run reports on most productive, park/pulls, and create actionable items on any deficiencies.

• Works closely with Management and related leadership areas.

• Prioritizes the guest experience towards a strong focus and development on frontline service interactions

• Serves as a leader for team members while fostering teamwork, team member morale, motivation and open communication.

• Provides direction and support for all team members to achieve department goals and objectives.

• Coaches and develops team members using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulating expectations.

• Ensures business objectives, ethics and values of Jamul Casino.

• Helps maintain and enhance a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests and team members.

• Ensures that guest problems/complaints are managed in a timely, effective and courteous manner.

• Supervises training of all transportation staff with an emphasis on detail to ensure service levels consistent with Jamul Casino’s guest service standards.

• Coordinates cross training between all Valet departments/positions.

• Responsible for thorough investigation of all vehicle damage/risk problems and accurate recording of investigation and final disposition.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and fluctuating days off.

• Carries out duties associated with the following positions as necessary: Transportation Supervisor, Valet Attendant, and Transportation Host

• Monitors volume to ensure fast, friendly and efficient service.

• Ensures that all Transportation Team Members behavior and appearance are in compliance with casino established policy.

• This position is very physical in nature and may require incumbent to run across flat land, as well as up and down stairs to park and retrieve cars when needed or covering an attendant. Incumbent must be able to reach and grasp to retrieve keys for customers' vehicles. 

• Ability to drive cars of all types

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license with Gaming Commission.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Supervisory experience required.

• Experience in resolving guest complaints and in dealing with the public required.

• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.

• Ability to analyze a variety of technical problems resulting from a diverse nature of factors.

• Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Office, Outlook and Excel required.

• Must be able to work within a smoke-filled environment.

• Must be able to stand/jog 100% of shift

• Must have a valid California Driver License 

• Driving record must meet driver eligibility requirements of Jamul Casino’s insurance policy.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has supervisory responsibilities.

• Responsible for staff development.

• Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to team members regarding performance.

• Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs. 

• Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.

• Responsible for team member performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Team member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming Commission issued license.

Must obtain a First Aid/AED certification.  Must successfully complete TIPS training.

Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and have acceptable driving history.
