Summary You will serve as a Transportation Assistant (Vendor/Storage Management) in the Navy Household Goods/Personal Shipping Office (HHG/PPSO) of NAVSUP FLC PEARL HARBOR. Responsibilities You will approve/disapprove invoices and pre-approve accessorial services submitted by Transportation Service Providers (TSPs)/contractors. You will manage shipments in both Storage-in-Transit (SIT) and Non-Temporary Storage (NTS). You will notify members/employees of storage expiration dates, approves/disapproves requests for storage extensions, etc. You will review vendor invoices for accuracy of work performed and charges. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates knowledge and application of transportation/traffic management principles, methods, and regulations to resolve problems in connection with the storage and movement of personal property. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Utilizing automated systems to process personal property shipments; 2) Calculating and reviewing shipment costs, billing statements, and/or invoicing functions; 3) Preparing shipping documentation which may include determining excess cost; 4) Providing customer support while performing shipment and storage functions. Education There is no substituion of eduction for this position. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management. Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire.
