Transportation CAD Designer

Freese and Nichols is searching for an experienced Transportation CAD Designer in our Dallas, Frisco or Fort Worth, Texas offices.  This dynamic position will provide design assistance to transportation engineers to produce 3D CAD models of engineering designs and will generate plan sets for construction projects. The job requirements/responsibilities include:

Job responsibilities include:

Understanding of project requirements, scope of work, and deliverablesDevelop a trusted relationship with engineers based on sound and successful demonstrated input and outcomesPrepare detail and layout drawings and sketches of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring the application of theoretical and practical engineering knowledgeDevelop and follow individual quality control processes for the incorporation of provided mark-ups and deliverablesEnsure output is professional and consistent with prevailing standardsInterface with other groups, CAD personnel, subconsultants, and project engineers in order to support project productionProvide guidance to and collaborate with other CAD staff within groupProvide Continuous Improvement inputMay manage and supervise CAD staff

QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent10+ years of experience with a broad base in engineering design and technical support of engineeringMicrostation experience with preference for in-depth knowledge of Open Roads Designer, Geopak, and/or InRoadsProven ability to learn, adapt, and problem solve to produce accurate and quality deliverables

Preferred:

Associate Degree in CAD
