Position Summary:
The Transportation Coordinator role supports the Transportation department with administrative tasks. He or she supports planning the hourly workforce while nurturing an environment that maximizes employee safety, involvement and morale. The coordinator has to communicate with the drivers and with different teams and departments.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Plan and execute daily manpower Requirements for current day and week, keeping overtime to a minimumAssign daily work duties to driver’s workers ensuring safety, service and productivity and reliability Requirements are metMaintain Syntellic, Paragon and Xatanet programs (knowledge of these software packages an asset)Maintain associated employee bidsMaintain statistical information on employees, productivity, reliability, equipment, fuel, mileage, delivery schedules, service etc.Prepare and upload the daily route trial, adjusting options for greatest opportunity in maximizing safety, service, and cost efficienciesAudit all drivers trip records for legal and process legitimacyMaintain and audit weekly payroll entries for driversCommunicate across Warehouse, Transportation and Customer Service departments regarding possible issues impacting our customer or one-anotherReview service providers’ performance to ensure service and quality Requirements are metCapture and report on all restaurant Performance trendingResponsible for Pride data collection and entryAnalyze preventative maintenance schedules and determine opportunities & recommend actionsTrack employee attendance and summarize monthlyCoordinate all quality and improvement related initiatives including but not limited to HACCP; DQMP; CI (Continuous Improvement) AuditCoordinate Payroll function and associated activitiesOrdering uniforms and other essential outerwearMaintaining and coordinating equipment logs, driver awards, lockers, supplies; chep pallet invoicing, e-learning; hotel bookingsCoordinate e-learning completionPreparing First Aid/Injury/Collision Packages Coordinating weekly bid assignment; driver notificationsProvide administrative support to the Modified Work ProgramNew Hire paperwork/document – ensuring accurate and timely completionUpdating of lot diagramsCoordination and planning vacation schedules for hourly employeesVacation replacement coverage – 20%Performing Safety Audits as requiredAll other administrative support duties as applicable including file maintenanceEnsure the operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulationsOther projects or duties as assignedQualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
Requires a post-secondary education in Supply Chain/Logistics or a related field, or equivalent experienceAbility to work well under pressure while working independently or as a team playerAnalytical, detail oriented, highly accurate, conscientious, and dependableStrong interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and organizational skills to oversee staffProblem solving skills, ability to manage customer expectationsDemonstrates a positive attitude that sets an example for othersMaintain a sense of urgency, strong multi-tasking, and priority managementHighly proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, Access, and OutlookStrong leadership/Supervisory qualities ‘a must’ as this position is an entry-level management roleThis position must pass a post-offer background checkPreferred Skills and Experience:
