Job Posting: Transportation Driver Manager
Are you an experienced leader passionate about managing teams in the fast-paced transportation industry? We’re looking for a Transportation Driver Manager to lead and support our drivers while ensuring operational excellence and adherence to our Core and Growth Values.
What you’ll do?Driver Oversight: Set clear expectations for assigned drivers regarding safety, performance, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.Safety First: Foster a safety-driven culture by monitoring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.Performance Monitoring: Track driver metrics such as on-time performance, fuel efficiency, hours of service (HOS), and compliance with routing and scheduling requirements.Communication & Coaching: Maintain open lines of communication with drivers, explaining the "why" behind company policies and decisions to promote understanding and alignment.Problem-Solving: Quickly and effectively resolve driver issues, including routing, load assignments, and equipment concerns.Team Environment: Build a respectful, collaborative team atmosphere where drivers feel supported and empowered to make sound decisions.Operational Excellence: Create a sense of urgency within the team to meet delivery timelines, address customer concerns, and handle operational issues promptly.Compliance & Documentation: Monitor driver performance and provide documentation, coaching, or corrective action as necessary.
What do you need?Previous experience in transportation management, dispatching, or a similar leadership role in the logistics industry.Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours of service (HOS), and safety requirements.Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other industry-specific tools.Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage and motivate drivers.A proactive, solution-oriented mindset to navigate challenges in transportation operations.
