Job Description Salary range 100-150k The Transportation Engineer will work on multiple high-profile projects, focusing on roadway design. The role involves hands-on work with minimal leadership responsibilities, client interaction, and technical question handling. The position offers a hybrid work environment with limited travel and opportunities for career advancement. Hands-on Experience: Microstation: 3D modeling of roadways, design work, cut/fill quantities, horizontal/vertical alignment. TxDOT and County/City projects: Preferably local cities in Houston. Production-focused: 80% hands-on engineering, 20% client interaction/PM work. Responsibilities: Lead project teams for schematic design and PS&E for roadway/highway projects. Act as Project Manager and Engineer, overseeing all operations related to transportation projects focused on Design. Attend design review meetings and interact with clients. Support proposal development, project scoping, and client relationship development. Provide guidance and supervision to supporting staff. Skills and Requirements Must Haves: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university. Valid Texas Professional Civil Engineers License (PE). 5-10 years of hands-on experience in roadway design for transportation projects. Proficiency in Microstation, ORD, and GEOPACK is essential. Hands-on experience with 3D modeling, horizontal alignment, and cross-section/profile creation. Strong communication skills for client interaction and project management (20% of role). Plusses: TxDOT Precertification in Roadway Design (4.2.1), Bridge, and Drainage is preferred Longevity in previous roles and 3 references are a plus.
