at our Transportation Hub in Charleston, SC

You will hire, train and lead a top notch team of drivers and will conduct yourself with grace under pressure - knowing the most important thing for our families and caregivers is that their loved one arrives at our center safely and returns home safely!

Job Responsibilities

Conduct job training following standard operating procedures and ongoing coaching and mentorship; provide Center Director feedback relative to Drivers’ performance.      Develop efficient, scheduled routes and oversee safe transport of all members promptly. Drive assigned routes. Facilitate the exchange of recommendations and insight among Drivers to ensure best practices for accommodating members' unique needs during the transport process. Oversee fleet; ensure Drivers conduct daily vehicle inspections, follow prescribed maintenance and fueling schedule, confirm wheelchair lifts and tie-down equipment are operating correctly, and maintain the cleanliness of their vehicles. Respond to and resolve reports of mechanical or safety concerns, repairs, or service needs. Maintain vehicle information, including route, mileage, fuel, and service records; secure company property, including vehicles, phones, and fuel cards. Assist with licensing and registration of vehicles as needed. Communicate in a positive, courteous, and professional manner with members and their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community. Maintain current and working knowledge of state, federal, and regulatory laws & guidelines related to passenger transport. Comply with company policies & procedures, safety, and regulatory laws & standards, and effectively manage accident investigations and related reporting. Ensure proper submission of Medicaid billing claims for transportation trips, if applicable. Assist Center Director and home office transportation team in identifying and implementing operational efficiencies to enhance the member experience. Other duties and responsibilities as changed or assigned at any time. Qualifications

Qualifications:

High school degree or equivalent required.Transportation management experience, including routing & dispatching required.Non emergency medical transportation experience preferred but nor required.At least 21 years of age, and prior leadership experience coaching, preferably in a transportation environment. Valid driver’s license and state/vehicle-specific driver credentials. Strong with various systems:  RouteGenie, Fleetio experience preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).Strong relationship building skillsPrior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred. Able to work a flexible schedule. Able to push, pull, bend, turn, pivot, transfer and lift up to 50 pounds; able to routinely and repeatedly exit and enter the vehicle to assist members with on- and off-boarding.  Able to pass required physical exams including Department of Transportation (DOT) exam. Successful results of background check, motor vehicle report, drug testing, and any other state-specific requirements. Knowledge of local geographic area preferred. Where applicable, certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and Passenger Assisted Safety & Sensitivity (PASS) are required and will be facilitated as part of job training
