HDR is hiring a Transportation Planner 2 to work at the FDOT client site in Tallahassee, FL.Primary responsibilities
Provide in-house support to FDOT Systems Implementation Office Assist with policy, procedures, and guidebooks related to multimodal site impact, access management, interchange access requests, quality level of service, lane repurposing, corridor planning, traffic analysis, and road designationReview interchange access requests and lane repurposing proposalsAssist with training development and delivery related to the topics mentioned above Assist with maintaining document repositories Define regional or local transportation planning problems or priorities.Collect, assimilate, analyze, and manage project-related data developed through research, interviews, surveys, and other methods.Conduct technical analysis involving data analytics, travel demand modeling, GIS, etc.Develop GIS and graphic maps conveying complex data through a visual lens. Conduct constraints mapping and maps/documents required by the project.Recommend transportation system improvements or projects, based on economic, population, land-use, or traffic projections.Develop high quality presentations and communicate complex transportation planning concepts in a simple and relatable manner.Prepare technical memorandums, reports, and other project deliverables. Support community engagement and public information efforts, meetings, and public hearings. Participate in public meetings or hearings to explain planning proposals, to gather feedback from those affected by projects, or to achieve consensus on project designs.Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Traffic analysis skills using HCS, Synchro, and other software Travel demand modeling skills Familiarity with ArcGIS and graphics software PE licenseRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or closely related fieldA minimum of 5 years experience with transportation planningMS Office, CAD, ArcInfo/ArcViewAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
