Senior Transportation Engineer/Planner | Orlando, FL
Are you a passionate Transportation/Traffic Engineer ready to lead impactful projects across diverse sectors? VHB’s Orlando office is expanding, and we want you to join our dynamic Transportation Planning group. You’ll collaborate with a talented team on transformative projects for both public and private clients, including real estate developers, municipal and state agencies, higher education, federal lands, and aviation.
Responsibilities:
Design and plan innovative transportation solutions, integrating Complete Streets concepts in both urban and suburban settingsLead multi-modal transportation analyses, addressing the needs of drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and freightDevelop and design key infrastructure, from intersection improvements to multimodal facilities and transportation corridorsPrepare traffic impact and safety studies, forecasting models, and operational analysesPresent findings and solutions to clients in a clear, engaging mannerCreate impactful data visualizations to bring designs to lifeSupport proposal development, scope creation, and project budgetingLead and mentor junior staff on project tasksSkills & Abilities:
Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skillsTeam-oriented with a drive to work independently when neededProven leadership and mentoring abilitiesStrategic, critical thinker who thrives in a collaborative environmentSelf-motivated and disciplinedQualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field5+ years of experience in transportation engineering/planning (consulting firm experience a plus); 8+ years of experience preferredProfessional Engineer (PE) license requiredPTOE/RSP certifications are a bonusProficiency with Synchro and HCSFamiliarity with Sidra, Cube/FSUTMS, Microstation, and PTV VISSIM/VISUM is highly preferredWe are VHB!
