Job DescriptionOlsson provides multidisciplinary design services for transportation-related projects including urban and rural highways, interchanges, and municipal roadways. As a Transportation Regional Director for our Roadway and Bridge team, you will be responsible for overseeing all team operations including staff management, financial performance, project quality, and client service. This position establishes goals and objectives for the team, focuses on employee development and mentoring, and oversees client service management and winning work with repeat clients. The senior team leader directs a team of a high-performing individuals that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Establishes and communicates team objectives, develops plans and strategies that align with firmwide goals, and sets high performance expectations for the team.Oversees and monitors staffing, utilization, and financial performance for the team, ensuring each group is operating successfully and maximizing opportunities.Manages staff and team dynamics, fostering a collaborative work environment and a high-performance culture in which individuals and groups are positioned to grow and succeed.Works closely with group leaders to set priorities, manage workloads, and resource allocation, and ensure groups are accomplishing goals and contributing to strong team performance.Oversees client service management, delivering continuous client satisfaction and implementing high client service standards for the team.Holds ultimate responsibility for team’s financial performance, project management activities, and quality of project deliverables.Leads efforts to expand the team’s capabilities and service offerings, identifying opportunities for growth that align with client needs and firmwide strategic objectives. Also supports the resource needs of large and complex projects outside of the team for the benefit of the firm.Drives recruitment efforts to attract top talent, fostering a workplace environment that supports staff retention, professional development, and team success.Evaluates team performance, identifies areas of improvement, and makes necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.Oversees marketing efforts for repeat clients and coordination with business development on new client pursuits, including client strategy, proposal process, interviewing, and selection efforts within the team.Responsible for the performance and development of group leaders, client managers, project managers, and lead staff and conducts performance management mentoring.Adheres to regulations and enforces safety standards.QualificationsYou are passionate about:

Strong Communication SkillsAbility to contribute and work well on a teamBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related area preferred. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate degree with equivalent experience is required.Minimum of ten years of related experience within an applicable field or discipline.Must have at least six years of experience supervising technical personnel.Must be a registered professional engineerStrong communication, leadership, and management skills.Proven track record in meeting and exceeding client expectations.Successful experience in building and maintaining strong workloads.Ability to attract, develop, and retain talented staff who deliver results.Recognizing the significance of the role as a leader, committed to driving the organization towards success.Offers lateral support to achieve firm goals ahead of team goals.Has a valid driver’s license and a good driving history.Has a willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required.Additional Information
