The Transportation Sales Manager is responsible for developing and meeting the annual revenue growth plan for the Transportation Segment by identifying new air compressor products, new markets, and improving penetration into existing markets.  Currently, our primary path to market in this segment is via large hybrid and electric bus and truck OEMs.  The TSM must work cross functionally with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and the Sales Team to achieve financial growth targets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grow Revenue to drive both short-term and long-term profitability

Develop annual sales plan, budget, and scheduleDevelop monthly and quarterly forecastsDevelop long-term growth plan and future directionMaintain sales management and reporting tools to achieve key business objectives and Powerex visionOversee sales, promotions, collections and other activities to achieve sales target

Create the Marketing Strategy for the Transportation Segment

Identify new markets and sales channels and contact potential customers for new business opportunitiesStay current with demand and supply of Powerex products, key economic indicators, changing trends and competitive landscapeRegularly perform market strategy analysis and gather useful information from sales activitiesUnderstand competitive landscape and set pricingShare sales presentations, goals and initiatives with key stakeholders and ensure company buy-in and cohesionDirect New Product DevelopmentPrepare sales contracts, proposals, and reports for management of business opportunities 

Build and grow a high-functioning Sales Organization

Hire, train and guide new candidates in their job responsibilitiesDevelop Sales Plans and Incentive for each sales personMotivate, guide and coach sales team to achieve revenue targetsDevelop sales techniques and tactics to meet key business goalsCoordinate with the sales team to plan promotion activities, trade shows, and special eventsImprove career growth path and development opportunities for team members, provide coaching and mentorship as needed

Provide Customer Service

Build a positive working relationship with existing clients for repeat businessAddress client issuesEstablish personal networks across all channels and regions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferredMinimum of five years of progressive experience in Sales/Sales Management/Marketing/Leadership/Engineering roles specifically selling to Automotive OEMsDrivetrain knowledge and experience is a plusDemonstrate ability of leading a team with consistent growthDemonstrate ability to reach and exceed targetsExceptional negotiation skillsHigh business acumenAbility to build effective relationships – internally and externallyEffective presentation skillsExceptional communication skillsAbility to work productively under pressureFlexibilityGood organizational skillsAbility to be proactive and plan effectivelyTime managementEnthusiastic, positiveSelf-motivatedComputer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.Ability to travel 30% of time
