About the Position: This position is located at 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Leavenworth, KS Responsibilities Provides technical guidance on overall facets of transportation and non-tactical vehicle movement throughout the installation. Serves as the official point of contact for transportation/traffic management programs. Serves as the installation authority on interpreting entitlements for shipment and storage of personal property for military personnel and the movement of government cargo. Implements higher headquarters’ transportation regulations and policies. Coordinates customer complaints of poor carrier performance with carrier representatives and recommends corrective action. Represents the organization at meetings, briefings, etc., with contractors, contracting officers, industry officials, IMCOM, and supported activity personnel. Prepares a variety of information such as briefings, memoranda and information papers for command group and supported activities on transportation issues. To Qualify for GS-09:Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying transportation rules, regulations and procedures to (1) compute cost estimates and process personal property shipment and storage transactions paid for at government expense or (2) research and advise on damage claims/entitlements for personal property shipments or storage at government expense or (3) manage technical or logistical support for movement of equipment or supplies for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
