We operate under the Outsourcing Operating Model, so strategic interaction between BASF, Logistics Services providers and Carriers is critical to BASF’s customer experience and business growth. The Transportation Sr. Manager / Continuous improvement will own the service offering for all railroad and bulk truck operations. As service owner, they will be accountable for service levels, service offering strategy, and logistics providers management. **As a Transportation Sr. Manager / Continuous improvement, you create chemistry by...** + Overseeing the strategic planning, coordination, and management of Bulk Surface Transportation services at the company, as well as the implementation and development of transportation documentation, including SOP’s, process changes, and new process rollouts. + Leading a team of transportation management professionals that collaborate with 3rd party vendors, customer service, and site logistics to deliver high customer satisfaction. + Using your strong project management skills with an ability to drive change, to focus on innovation, new services, and digitization strategy and execution. + Effectively analyzing supply chain costs & service analytics and develop & deliver Senior Management status reports. + Partnering with Logistics Procurement to enable strategic improvements across bulk transportation including effective transportation bids, onboardings, and carrier performance management. + Developing comprehensive knowledge of BASF business units' supply chains, priorities, systems, to identify potential risks and opportunities to implement best practices that enhance Bulk Solutions + Staying abreast of transportation market dynamics and trends and participate in transportation discussions/forums such as industry conferences, symposiums and networking events. **If you...** + Have a BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Business, Information Services, Transportation and Supply Chain Operations or related. MBA preferred. + Possess 8+ years of supply chain, transportation, or rail logistics operations experience in a CPG or similar industrial or retail environment + Have experience in leadership, strategy, logistics and service or vendor management + Have end to end SAP, BASF tools knowledge a plus (i.e. OTC, TM, SCI, Tableau, PowerBI) + Are knowledgeable in BASF surface transportation processes and high-level understanding of interface to LLPs is preferred. **Create your own chemistry with you@BASF** At BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
