Transportation Supervisor

We are searching for a Transportation Supervisor to join our team in High Point, NC!

As the Transportation Supervisor, you will be responsible for all domestic bulk transportation operations across the region and will be accountable for the performance of the carrier base to operational and financial metrics. In this role, you will balance customer and financial outcomes inclusive of delivery speed, cost, service, and on-time delivery. The Transportation Supervisor will partner with 3PL (Third Party Logistics) personnel to ensure carrier selection, compliance, and tactical execution of customer and interplant shipments.  You will be a member of the Global Logistics Team, reporting to the Americas Transportation Leader within Supply Chain and will supervise a team of 3PL team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for all day-to-day domestic bulk transportation operations across the region.  Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, local, state, and federal laws/regulations.Act as a bulk transportation and logistics subject matter expert.Accountable for developing and owning a pipeline of transportation-related optimization savings. Drive policy change or improvement initiatives through data analytics and trends.Point of contact to the bulk carrier base. Facilitate communication to stakeholders and carriers downstream from manufacturing.Execute review meetings with carrier base.  Provide risk-based assessment and define requirements to support RFQs, bids and the carrier portfolio.Develop action plans for continuous improvement.Provide reporting and visibility including operational and financial metrics and in-transit shipments. Proactive management and communication of bulk transportation issues, risks, provide data-based resolutions to business management.Drive clear communication and mitigation plans to address bulk challenges impacting operational performance and customer service levels.

Qualifications:

Required:

4-year degree or 2 years of supply chain, logistics, or operational experience, involving managing bulk transportation operations required.

Preferred:

Management or supervisory experience preferred.Experience managing hazardous transportation operations and knowledge of DOT regulations preferred.Knowledge of SAP and experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred.Ability to travel up to 20% domestically.
