Assists with monitoring Department of Transportation (DOT) logs, ensures drivers are in compliance with all DOT and OpCo regulations, and coordinates the tracking of all relevant information on drivers, supervisor ensures routing and software systems are up to date. Will interact with drivers, sales, transportation, warehouse and customer service personnel. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company. **Position Responsibilities:** + Supervises associates to include, but not limited to: staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution. Assists in scheduling as well as ensuring deliveries and pickups are made in a timely manner. Rides with drivers for training and/or evaluation purposes. + Oversee the establishment of delivery routes, labor and transportation cost are within budgeted guidelines. Maintain compliance with Federal DOT guidelines while still maintaining an acceptable level of customer service, quality and satisfaction. Ensure all routing activities are leveraging the Roadnet application to ensure Delivery costs are held to company expected run rates year over year. + Provide leadership for the strategic planning of new concepts and the establishment of routing procedures and schedules which allow for the optimum use of personnel and equipment while keeping a strong emphasis on driver safety. + Work closely with Transportation Management to resolve driver route concerns by visiting geographical delivery areas and participating in driver work-with’s. + Ensure all routing scenarios are designed to improve efficiency, delivery on-time, reduce delivery expense. + Assists Transportation/Operations Manager with overall day-to-day administration of transportation and delivery functions, which may include calculating driver payroll, reviewing driver trip logs and expense reports, identifying and resolving problems, and ensuring that drivers are compliant with DOT and OpCo regulations. Operates computer keyboard to enter and access data in automated fleet management system. + Plan Maintenance equipment with regards to costing, restrictions, and capacities. + Geo-Coding, delivery days, time windows, service time types, serve time overrides, account types, meal beaks + Route start times, pre/post trips, starting/ending depot, travel modes, color for mapping, assigned driver, equipment and DOT road checks + Manage assets (equipment/inventory/people) for continual improvement of financial position, including the performance and delivery of costing, off-days, maintenance, scorecard, customer and KPI reporting on scheduled intervals. Leverage routing reports to monitor weekly and monthly trends. Implement necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement. + Ensures drivers fulfill duties safely by monitoring vehicle safety, safe usage of ramps and handcarts, seat and weight belt use, and safe lifting and product-handling practices.
