Summary About the Position: Fort Gregg Adams is Home of Logistic Warriors, is a US Army installation located near the Tri-Cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Hopewell, VA. Fort Gregg Adams is south of Richmond, the Capital of Virginia. There are a number of important missions accomplished by the activities located here. The missions accomplished at Fort Gregg Adams include combat and training development and the professional development of military personnel through various training programs. Responsibilities Serves as a Transportation Systems Specialist on either the mobilization, deployment, redeployment or demobilization analysis team in the Deployment Process Modernization Office (DPMO). Responsible for providing technical expertise during development, initiation, and execution of all aspects of deployment modernization. The DPMO mission is to serve as the single point of contact for deployment, developer of deployment requirements, expert on deployment doctrine and procedures Army-wide. The DPMO articulates Army deployment requirements to the Joint Community. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience providing guidance to transportation operations during deployment and redeployment missions; developing transportation plans, policies, and procedures related to movement of units for mobilization; and utilizing automated transportation information systems for mobilization and deployment planning. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Deployment Planning Transportation Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
