Transporters operate DDI vehicles in compliance with the Department of Motor Vehicle, NYS Traffic and Agency regulations while transporting developmental disabled individuals.
We are currently looking for Transporters for the following areas:
Please note that a schedule of 25 hours a week is eligible for health insurance and paid time off benefits through the agency. Also, there may be an opportunity to pick up additional hours in other DDI programs.
Available Shifts: Mon-Fri 7am-10:30am/2pm-4:30pm
Responsibilities: Transport developmentally disabled individuals throughout Suffolk and Nassau County. Operate vehicle in safe manner at all times Obey all rules of the road Perform pre-trip inspection Report any violations received Drive vehicles solely for DDI business Follow all agency policies and procedures Take time to learn and improve your driving skills Ensure safety and well being of all individuals Complete all necessary paperwork on a daily basis (route sheet, vehicle log, Incident reports & etc) Safeguard vehicle Ensure that all individuals are received by a responsible adult after they exit the van Maintain a clean vehicle Report vehicle defects immediately Maintain a professional appearance at all times Qualifications: NYS Drivers License without restrictions for driving performance Not less than 18 months experience as a licensed driver No DWI or DUI within the last 3 years Six or fewer accumulated points (4-6 points will require DD Course completion within 90 days of hire) Three or fewer accident and moving violations (combined) within previous 12 month period CPR, SCIP, First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire Ability to read, understand, and follow safety guidelinesDDI is committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and employees without regard to actual or perceived race, color, sex, pregnancy, reproductive decision making, gender expression or identity, national origin, disability, military status, creed, religion, age, sexual orientation, marital status, genetic information, status as a victim of domestic violence or any other group protected by federal, state or local law.
