**Job Summary and Qualifications**
1.Ensures proper handling of patients with comfort and safety.
2.Escorts patients to and from the Radiology department, verifying order, isolation status and patient identity.
3.Communicates with unit nursing staff about transfer prior to escorting patient to room.
4.Follows guidelines documented on request for transport (e.g. O2, IV, stretcher vs. w/c)
5.Demonstrates agility with conveying multiple articles (e.g. stretcher and IV pole)
6.Ensures availability of adequate transport equipment at beginning and end of each shift.
7.Completes patient safety checklist prior to transporting to MR area.
8.Provide direct assistance to the technical staff.
9.Prepares procedure room for exam, ensuring appropriate supplies available in room, under the direction of tech.
10.Assists patient with the completion of assessment tools (H&P, LOCM form, etc.) as assigned by Tech.
11.Prints exams/duplicates as directed by Tech.
12.Ensures all records attained prior to exam (see checklist)
13.May be used to assist in the reception areas.
14.Processes CR unit cassettes at direction of Tech.
15.Documents required patient information on medical record (allergies, VS, etc.) as delegated by Tech.
16.May be trained to perform role of EKG Tech for NM Stress Tests.
17.Maintains patient privacy and dignity at all times as allowed by exam performed and ensures confidentiality is maintained.
18.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
19.Verbalizes own role in policies located in Disaster Manual and Dr. Leo.
20.Verbalizes location of emergency equipment in department/room/area.
21.Ensures equipment (stretcher) is properly functioning and demonstrates protocol to handle malfunctions.
22.Follows hospital and department policy for Standard Precautions or category of isolation appropriate to patient.
23.Demonstrates skills/abilities required for Radiology department employees.
24.Demonstrates appropriate customer service skills with all customers (patient, pt’s family, physician, visitors, co-workers).
25.Communicates professionally within work environment.
26.Assists with maintaining adequate quantities of supplies in procedure rooms, storage rooms, and notifying appropriate person(s) of items to be ordered.
27.Reports to work consistently and on-time, adhering to all SDMC attendance policies (see summary document).
28.Attends staff meetings 80% of time or greater. When unable to attend, reviews posted minutes within 1 week of meeting.
29.Demonstrates flexibility in work assignment, by location, shift, duration of shift, etc.
30.Functions with minimal supervision, considers alternatives and identifies possible solutions prior to seeking assistance, except when safety issues are involved.
31.Accepts change, direction and constructive feedback in an open and positive manner, and demonstrates the ability to change/improve.
32.Adjusts to variations in volume in an efficient manner.
33.Maintains supportive and cooperative demeanor.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
