The Trauma Advanced Practice Provider will assist in comprehensive medical, neurosurgery, general surgical and critical care of Trauma and Surgical patients requiring hospitalization. The Trauma APP has specialized skill and knowledge related to the unique ICU setting in which s/he practices and performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care services in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit, Progressive Care, and medical floors. The provider plans, implements and evaluates care that is consistent from admission to post-discharge. The Trauma APP will participate in all aspect of patient care for trauma patients. Additionally, the Trauma APP collaborates with the Trauma department in activities for education and performance improvement.
