Trauma Registrar- FT
The Trauma Program Registrar is responsible for collecting, abstracting and coding data for trauma patients and entering in the State Trauma Registry. The Trauma Registrar works both independently and in collaboration with the trauma program manager, trauma medical director, and other members of the health care team and the management staff. He/she ensures adherence to data management protocols set forth in order to maintain trauma status. Works with billing in regards to trauma coding and medical records. Work as EMS liaison, in gathering data for PI review and assisting in inventory of Emergency Preparedness Supplies and training drills. Assists with quality control activities, information requests, and quality improvement studies as requested. The Trauma Program Registrar is self-directed and self-motivating, plans and conducts work with minimal direction, and reports the progress of work to the Trauma Program Manager. **Education** Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing RN Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing **Experience** Required: One (1) year of clinical / acute care experience. Preferred: Experience in trauma, emergency and/or critical care Preferred: Experience in coordination, education and clinical program development Preferred: Proficient in medical terminology, data entry and computer skills. **License/Certifications** Required: Current licensure in professional nursing from the New Mexico State Board of Nursing or compact RN license Required: Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, Preferred: AAAM AIS Coding Course within 1 year of hire. **At MountainView we pride ourselves on fostering an environment that is warm and welcoming where everyone feels heard, supported and valued.
