About Brucejack

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Purpose

The Logistics & Accommodations Lead Hand assists the Logistics & Accommodations Supervisor with the following duties and responsibilities; planning, organizing, and developing of the overall operation of the Logistics & Accommodations Department in accordance with the local standards and guidelines; ensuring that quality care is maintained at all times; proper staffing, training, and developing of employees.

This position is responsible for maintaining supervisory operations of the Logistics & Accommodations team. The role is being offered with a competitive annual salary range of & $87,000 - $95,000 and additional perks including benefits. We are seeking an individual for a Fly-In/Fly-Out opportunity working on a two-weeks-in, two-weeks-out rotating schedule.

Essential Duties

Adhering to all Health and Safety regulations and Company standards/policies and procedures.

The position responsibilities will always be performed in compliance with all Newcrest Health & Safety and other relevant policies and regulations.Foster a proactive safety culture for the team. Ensure that staff is working safely, in accordance with Newcrest policies and department SOPs.Provide supervisory coverage to Logistics & Accommodations staff when Logistics & Accommodations Supervisor is off site. Keep up with emails and filter as necessary, coordinate staff coverage for sick days, plan and run daily Toolbox meetings, etc.Supervise the daily activities of the Logistics & Accommodations Department such as leading Toolbox meetings, follow up on Safety concerns, assist with large scope issues, etc.Provide training and coaching to the team.Work with Housekeeping to ensure that daily check-ins and check-outs flow smoothly.Work with Surface Operations and Maintenance to ensure that daily transportation needs are being met.Work with Logistics & Accommodations Supervisor and Camp Manager to standardize department procedures, create and update training materials, cross train employees, maintain office standards for cleanliness and conduct, etc.Assist the team with planning and organizing of daily workloads.Ensure that staff is trained on how to properly and safely use and maintain the equipment and report any equipment deficiencies.Perform other related duties as required.Training & Experience Previous experience leading a team through motivation, coaching and development.The ability to properly prioritize day-to-day activities, anticipate Guest needs, and to change goals/ direction in a timely manner.Working knowledge of rooms management system (INNfinity)Knowledge of Logistics & Accommodations processes and procedures.Proven experience in Leadership.Proven excellence in Customer Service.Capable of using independent judgement/ solid decision-making ability.Must be able to interact effectively with the Newcrest Leadership team, other operations and contractor teams, and Guests.Streamlined communication skills that allow team to clearly understand their daily tasks.Advanced English verbal, writing, and speaking skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Must be able to effectively manage one’s own time as well as that of the team.Ability to coach and inspire team members.Working Conditions Work at remote location (camp) on a 13 days on/13 days off rotation.Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening.Be able maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts.Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.Able to work in close quarters with the team.
