Job Title: CNC Machinist - Per Diem Eligibility

Job Description

Set up and operate CNC machines to create large parts. Work specifically with titanium and perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Read and interpret blueprints and blueprint symbols accurately.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC machines to create large parts.Work with titanium and ensure precise machining.Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.Read and interpret blueprints and blueprint symbols.Set up fixtures properly including clamping, centering, and indicating of fixture.Set up cutting tools and change out inserts for cutting operations.Control operations of equipment and monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machine is working properly.Essential Skills5+ years of CNC machining experience.Experience working with large parts and titanium.Ability to perform own quality checks.Proficient in reading basic blueprints, drawings, or templates; including dimensional, true position, and circularity call outs.Knowledge of shop mathematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and Feeds & Speed calculations.Ability to use desktop publishing software and computerized spreadsheets for analysis.Knowledge of machines, controllers, and tools (Fanuc or Mazak).Proficient in using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and bar gauges.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with 5-axis CNC, Mazak Mazatrol, Mazak 1800, Mazak 1850, DMG, Okuma Multus, Doosan Puma SMX, Gd&t.

Work Environment

This location is one of the largest CNC shops in San Diego, working on a significant project for Rolls Royce and GE to make parts for the LEAP engine, which will be fitted to 90% of all commercial airplanes worldwide. It is the largest engine overhaul project ever.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, California. Travelers must be 80+ miles from the job site to qualify for per diem.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00
