BE-FAST) NIHSS Certified (current certificate on file, obtained w/in 2 years of start date) Bedside Dysphagia screening competency (on file) Minimum 1-year experience working in a certified stroke center critical care unit**preferred Familiar with current Stroke guidelines and performance measures for Acute Ischemic and Hemorrhagic strokes IV-tPA administration and post-tPA monitoring competency State licensure : KY/Compact in hand RTO accepted or not: Must be included in submittal Charting: Meditech experience preferred, not required. The RN - Neuro ICU assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the neuro critical care setting. The Neuro ICU RN consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and recognizing change in patient’s conditions. The Neuro ICU RN must be alert and prepared at all times to respond to emergent situations and they must also be able to remain calm and professional in times of crisis.
