Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic with the ability to travel anywhere in the United States. This is a fully travel-based role with a home base where you currently reside. The majority of work will be performed in Omaha, Nebraska, but you must be able to travel to any location in the United States where the company has projects. You will need your own tools and the ability to operate a company vehicle. A truck will be provided.
ResponsibilitiesSupport an earth-moving company by servicing and repairing heavy equipment such as Haul Trucks, Scrapers, Dozers, Water Trucks, Excavators, and Skid Steers.Send any major repairs to a CAT service center in the area where the job is located.Work independently to troubleshoot and perform diagnostics on equipment.Perform preventive maintenance and component repairs on heavy equipment.Essential SkillsExperience with diesel repair and heavy equipment.Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, engine, oil, fuel, hydraulic, and air filter systems.Ability to perform diagnostics and component repairs.Experience with preventive maintenance.Ability to travel extensively within the United States.Strong diesel mechanic experience with heavy equipment and working on commercial construction sites.Additional Skills & QualificationsCAT Certified Diesel Mechanic is highly desirable.Experience with heavy equipment operation, engine repair, brake, and fuel line diagnostics and repair.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
You will work on a large data center project, performing earth-moving tasks. The work environment varies with cold and hot temperatures depending on the time of year. You will conduct work on the job site and be exposed to different weather conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, Nebraska.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
