Job Description
We are currently seeking a Traveling Superintendent to support our national retail programs. This role involves hands-on management and effective execution of all field operations on assigned projects. The Superintendent will collaborate with the Project Manager to assume overall responsibility and accountability for the success of each project, which typically involves multiple stores across various locations and lasts between 6-12 weeks.
ResponsibilitiesManage subcontractor performance and overall job schedule.Upload daily reports and photos to Procore.Conduct inspections.Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, coworkers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.Promote safety on the job site for all participants.Participate in the procurement and buyout of subcontractors, including defining scope and reviewing subcontracts.Manage utilization of subcontractors, labor, materials, equipment, and other project resources.Lead field teams to ensure schedule and budget goals are met or exceeded.Provide proactive solutions to avoid and solve problems that may arise on projects.Effectively manage and communicate project details, including daily job reports, completion paperwork, permits, and other necessary documentation.Review drawings and other project documents for accuracy and resolve any errors or omissions.Lead daily/weekly meetings at the job site, including safety meetings and progress meetings with subcontractors, clients, and company representatives.Essential Skills5 years of experience in commercial construction, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role in interior finish work and retail tenant improvement construction.Proficiency with computer skills including Procore, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.Highly self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed and satisfy all customers.Proven track record of meeting deadlines with attention to detail.Effective and professional communication skills with a positive attitude.Exceptional organizational and planning skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and multi-task effectively.Extensive knowledge of commercial construction practices, including blueprint reading.Ability to travel 100% of the time for projects for extended periods.Additional Skills & QualificationsBilingual English/Spanish is a plus.Ability to self-perform light carpentry, drywall, etc. is a plus.Work Environment
The work environment includes job trailers or on-site project support. Depending on the project, you may be on-site alone or with 1-2 other people. Project locations include FL, GA, SC, NC, LA, TX, and OH. Mileage will be reimbursed for driving to projects, and airfare and rental cars will be provided when driving is not feasible. Hotel accommodations will be provided, and a per diem of $50/day will be given for meals and incidentals.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
