Traveling VDC Manager
Project: Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Science, with extensive experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC). This role involves collaborating with internal project teams, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners to develop and execute BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and create detailed 2D, 3D, 4D, and 5D deliverables. Key Responsibilities: + Collaborate with internal project teams, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners to develop and execute BIM Execution Plans (BEP). + Develop 3D models for site logistics and 4D phase planning for VDC-related marketing efforts. + Create 3D models for virtual mock-ups and 3D coordination efforts. + Actively promote the value of VDC with both internal and external customers. + Managed and facilitated 3D coordination with design disciplines, subcontractors, and fabricators on projects of various scales. + Produce 2D/3D/4D/5D deliverables using VDC software such as Revit, Navisworks, Sketchup, Bluebeam, and Fuzor. + Assist the VDC Director and project teams in planning VDC scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects. + You can use BIM for visualization, constructability reviews, and coordination. + Train project team members on the access and use of VDC deliverables and BIM-related tools. + Contribute VDC lessons learned from assigned projects. + Support continuous improvement in VDC and company processes. + Work on projects both inside and outside of the regional office as needed. + Manage and improve VDC content libraries and standard work documentation. + Develop content to support marketing and pursuit teams as needed. Qualifications: Required: + BS or MS degree from an accredited college/university focusing on Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or equivalent AEC industry experience. + Minimum 5 years of experience in planning and executing BIM and VDC at the project level. + Strong VDC acumen and knowledge of current construction delivery models, practices, and documentation. + Understanding of building system types and construction sequencing. + Experience managing and training less experienced VDC staff on VDC tools and workflows. + Advanced competency using BIM authoring software such as Revit. + Advanced competency using 3D coordination software such as Revizto and Navisworks. + Experience in planning and executing laser scanning, processing, and deliverable creation from the data. + Ability to produce detailed 2D, 3D, 4D, or 5D deliverables for internal and external clients. + Desire to learn, apply, and train new processes, technologies, and methodologies that promote BIM, VDC, and a LEAN culture. + Self-motivated and efficient at working both independently and collaboratively within a team. + Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without direct supervision. + Strong problem-solving, mathematical, and written/verbal communication skills. Preferred: + Experience setting up and managing projects in Revizto. + Part 107 certification and experience leveraging drones and associated software for project deliverables. + Experience with 360 photo platforms and best practices for capturing and tracking progress. + Experience with 4D/5D phasing modeling and animation creation using Fuzor, Synchro Pro, or similar software. + Experience creating and collaborating on virtual mockups with project teams. + Programming experience using Dynamo, Python, or similar tools.
