Job Description
The Treasury Specialist processes and records a variety of domestic and international transactions, often complex in nature. This position also posts incoming funds from various parties to account for investment activity. This role is responsible for the timely, accurate, and organized flow of funds. Research and reconciliation of variances, working with internal and external partners is essential. Recording of support documents, monthly reporting, and audit support fall under this role. This position requires a highly analytical and proactive individual who is adept at navigating complex financial environments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of treasury activities, cash management, and financial risk assessment.
ResponsibilitiesOversee daily cash management operations, including cash positioning, reporting, and liquidity management.Maintain and manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions, including account opening/closure, signatories, and audit requests.Execute and monitor treasury transactions, including investments, borrowings, and foreign exchange dealings while ensuring proper financial controls and risk mitigation.Prepare and present treasury reports to management and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.Continually seek opportunities to improve treasury processes and systems for greater efficiency and accuracy.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all controls.Research and analyze issues related to customer accounts as needed.Essential SkillsExperience in treasury, accounting, banking, and finance.Back office experience of 1+ year.Experience with back-office banking systems and operations.Associate degree in accounting/finance with 4 years of related experience or Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with 2 years of related experience.Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast-paced environment.Demonstrated strong customer service and communication skills.Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in PC skills, including the ability to learn new systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong attention to detail.Self-starter, goal-focused, organized, and attention to necessary follow-ups.High-energy and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.Independent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Ability to meet assigned deadlines.Teamwork orientation, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers/colleagues and external parties.Punctual and regular attendance.Time management/flexibility, prioritizing responsibilities and deliverables with minimal supervision.Communication proficiency both verbal and in writing.Maintain confidentiality.Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word).Work Environment
This role is part of a department consisting of 4 people, within a company that has grown to 150 employees and plans to double in revenue this year. This is a full-time position with working hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT. Additional hours may be required to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.65/hr.
