Treasury Analyst, Associate

The Treasury Department at UPMC is hiring a Treasury Analyst, Associate to join our team. This role will work Monday through Friday during business hours with a hybrid work-from-home schedule.

In this role, you will conduct and document complex financial analysis projects. The Treasury Analyst, Associate will be responsible for performing the monthly accounting function within the Treasury department, explaining variances, and analysis. As the Treasury Analyst, Associate you must be aware of business, economic and accounting changes and have the ablility to effectively apply such changes to daily tasks. The Treasury Analyst, Associate will have extensive interaction with internal departments.

Responsibilities:

Keeps well informed and conversant with general business, economic and other matters, including legislation and accounting issues surrounding their specific area of coverage. Actively seek knowledge both directly and indirectly related to his/her job. Prepare monthly debt-related entries (e.g., interest, deferred financing costs, current portion of debt) and reporting. Assist in the preparation of requisitions for draws from project funds established in connection with debt issuance. Plan and conduct complex studies to determine the cost of business activities. Recommend budget adjustments and other cost improvement measures. Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions. Assist with the auditing and SOX process. Responsible for all debt reporting including preparation of compliance certificates, arbitrage reports and detailed supporting schedules for tax-exempt use of proceeds. Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported. Assists with the preparation of budget items. Prepare requisitions for draws from project funds established in connection with debt issuance. Analyze complex financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
