What is the Opportunity?
Preserve safety and soundness of RBC Bank by supporting comprehensive Balance Sheet Management and Forecasting of Net Interest Income, preparing ALCO and Board reporting, performing Interest Rate Risk analysis and reporting and performing variance analysis of NII and NIM. Ensure that RBC Bank Treasury operates and executes strategies within guidance of regulators and maintains best in class performance. Position supports both execution and transparency to management, parent, and regulators that activities are conducted within stated risk profile of bank.
What will you do?
Support Balance Sheet and Income Statement forecasting process as well as capital planning and stress testing support.
Reporting and transparency - Position provides reports to ALCO and Board that illustrate the level of market risk being taken relative to authorized limits and highlights opportunities and prospective risks within the bank balance sheet for current activities and initiatives under consideration.
Manage the processes and maintain procedures for NII, NIM and RWA forecasting, including income simulation and related stress scenario analysis.
Support Treasurer in assessing the impact of balance sheet strategies on Interest Rate Risk and projected NII or NIM levels.
Responsible for maintaining analytical systems used to support the identification, measurement, and analysis of NII and NIM drivers. This includes, but is not limited to, spreadsheet data analysis and database management.
Contribute to comprehensive uplift to RBC Bank Treasury’s current risk and governance infrastructure
Monthly review and challenge of IRR metrics and perform attribution analysis of key drivers of change from prior periods.
Responsible for drafting needed changes to policies/procedures.
In collaboration with key stakeholders across RBC Enterprise, ensure timely completion of all issue remediation milestones stemming from regulatory, risk, and supervisory gap assessment findings in accordance with established action plans
Responsible for preparing materials for auditors as well as external reporting or reporting required by bank regulators.
Responsible for assisting with the preparation of the Asset Liability Committee package and Treasury-related Board materials.
Provide economic and market analysis and updates to Asset Liability Committee

What do you need to succeed?
6+ years of relevant experience
Good knowledge of interest rate sensitivity concepts and measurements
Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
Well-organized individual with an established track record in timely and accurate analysis of a large amount of information, downloading computer data and organizing databases.
Excellent computer skills and experience with Relational Databases.
Good knowledge of Bank accounting systems and GAAP.
Preferred:
3 years of banking experience with interest rate risk
CFA, FRM, or MBA
A good understanding of ALM software
