Ventia is seeking a Tree Management Inspector for the Mornington Peninsula to maintain the health, safety, and aesthetics of vegetation within the Shire. This role involves conducting Significant Tree Inspections and Vegetation Assessments using risk and amenity matrixes, responding to customer requests, unplanned inspections, and storm damage events, and ensuring accurate reporting within the Asset Management Information System.
Ideal candidates have experience in arboriculture or a related field, strong attention to detail, and knowledge of tree risk assessment.
This is a full-time, permanent role offering $34.74 per hour.
Key responsibilities include:
Conduct tree inspections (Significant Tree, Vegetation Amenity, Storm Damage) and record findings in the Asset Management Information System. Support Vegetation Inspection & Reporting (VIR), Area Vegetation Pruning (AVP), Electrical Lines Clearance (ELC), Street Tree Planting (STP), and Storm Damage Response (SDR). Assess tree risks using a risk matrix and review permit requirements for removals. Perform unplanned inspections for customer requests, audits, and contract management. Identify and tag untagged trees for ongoing inspection. Assist in tree planting site selection and planning applications for removals. Provide professional communication with clients, respond to emergencies, and represent Ventia at stakeholder meetings. Ensure adherence to SHEQ protocols, work quality standards, and performance targets. Assist in training and induction of new or relocated employees.
About you:
AQF Level 5 Arboriculture, ESI Certificate 2 (Powerline Clearance) or equivalent. Level 2 First Aid, Road Traffic Control, EWP, Working at Heights. Approx 5 years in arboriculture with strong organizational, communication, and IT skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), GIS systems (GMSC, Infomaps), and TechOne. High-level verbal and written communication and intermediate accounting skills.
