Job DescriptionThe Area Manager at CarolinasDentist is a strategic leadership role focused on driving operational excellence, patient satisfaction, and team success across a designated region. The Area Manager oversees 2 to 8 dental practices, partnering with Practice Managers and Partner Dentists to ensure consistency, growth, and alignment with CarolinasDentist’s mission. This position is designed for experienced leaders eager to expand their influence and impact by supporting multiple locations in achieving collaborative success.
ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership Across Locations:
Oversee operations for 2 to 8 practices, working closely with each Practice Manager to maintain high standards in quality, efficiency, and patient care.Ensure each location follows CarolinasDentist Core Processes and Vision/Traction Organizer (VTO), aligning individual practice goals with overall company objectives.Market Development & Performance:
Guide Practice Managers in meeting or exceeding financial, clinical, and operational targets, focusing on growth, productivity, and profitability within their practices.Diagnose performance challenges, develop solutions, and coordinate with the RDO and COO to implement action plans for improvement across practices.Team Building & Coaching:
Mentor and support Practice Managers in their leadership development, helping them foster high-performing teams and drive a positive, patient-centered culture.Develop career paths and growth opportunities, empowering Practice Managers and their teams to excel within CarolinasDentist’s mission and values.Deliver training on operational best practices, patient experience strategies, and leadership development to elevate performance across all practices.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Serve as a conduit between CarolinasDentist leadership and each practice, ensuring the seamless communication of goals, strategies, and company values.Collaborate with the Marketing, HR, Collections, and Training departments to provide support and resources, enabling each practice to achieve their objectives.Provide regular updates to the Regional Director of Operations (RDO) on performance, challenges, and achievements in the area, while partnering with the COO on regional initiatives.Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction, streamline operations, and increase efficiencies within each location.Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging Practice Managers to explore new strategies for optimizing patient care, practice performance, and community engagement QualificationsExperience: A minimum of 18 months in dental practice management or multi-site management in dental, healthcare, or retail settings. Proven experience managing multiple locations, ideally with a focus on high-performance environments.
Travel Requirements: Willing and able to travel to all assigned area locations at least bi-weekly to provide consistent support, build relationships, and drive practice success across the region.
Business Acumen: Demonstrated accountability for practice-level performance, with hands-on experience in P&L management, revenue growth strategies, and expense control.
Leadership Style: Strong servant leadership approach, capable of leading through influence to inspire teams and foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture across practices.

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required; internal practice management experience within CarolinasDentist will be considered an equivalent substitute.
