In the role of Global Head of Developer Experience (DevEx) and System Engineering you will lead the change in elevating the developer experience across the organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to productize, develop and operate core capabilities within ING’s One Engineering System, focussing on developer experience, continuous integration/delivery and system engineering.
The team
In this role you manage both Product Area Leads, as well as IT Area Leads. And you work closely with your Chief Architect, and Change/Transformation Lead in defining, delivering and operating the product and services you provide. This is not done in isolation; you collaborate with your counterparts of Local Head of SRE to create an inclusive environment of collaboration and adoption doing so scale out the capabilities across the organization.
Roles and responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of practices, improvements necessary to remove complexity out of the software development life cycle and reduce cognitive load for engineers.
Drive end-to-end system optimization, increasing engineering productivity, and ensuring operational efficiency, in assuring software is delivered with excellence.
Essure the development and implementation of policies, controls and practices that define guardrails in how engineers design, build, and ultimately release software

Technical / Domain Expertise:
Software Engineering: Deep understanding of software engineering practices, system design, and the software development life cycle:10+ years of experience with Software EngineeringHas hand-on experience in 1 or more ‘modern’ programming Languages (Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust)Is recognized as an authority in software engineeringHas experience with modern engineering concepts like: Design Patterns, Domain Driven Design, CI/CD, Shift/Left Right, Zero Touch Operations.Has knowledge on engineering tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, Slack, Confluence, Maven, Gradle, Terraform, and such, IntelliJ, VisualStudioCode.Understand modern Cloud Infrastructures, and Cloud Native Concepts.Deep understanding of DevOps and DevEx: In-Depth Knowledge of DevOps Practices.
