Travel Partnerships and Media helps partners, including hotels, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveller and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply, our leading advertising and travel media network and affiliate solutions.

Look no further: the Connectivity team is looking for a new team member.  The Trips Connectivity Manager is an integral team member of the Expedia Global Connectivity & partner solutions organization (part of Travel Partnerships and Media). Our team is responsible for the strategy, negotiation, development, and delivery of effective connectivity solutions through our contractual partnerships with Connectivity suppliers for all of Expedia Group (EG) lines of business.

We are looking for a new team member who has experience in managing suppliers (both commercial and technical) and would be supporting our contractual partnerships for the ultimate benefit of our travelers. Join our team as Trips Connectivity Manager, and you will have the opportunity to support connectivity for a variety of travel products. This is a varied role within the world of connectivity and an opportunity for growth and learning as you will touch upon many aspects of our business, both from a commercial, legal and technical operations point of view.  This role will report to the Director, connectivity and Industry Standards.

The right candidate will be passionate about travel, comfortable with technical concepts and adept at managing a portfolio of suppliers with strong contractual skills.

In this role, you will:

Commercial and technical Account Management:

3 to 5 years’ experience in the travel industry with a history handling commercial and contractual relationship and negotiations with travel suppliers (connectivity suppliers preferred).This is a commercial role with contract management and governance as well as negotiations and contracting processes. Strong account management skills are expected both commercial and technical.

Strong collaboration with peers and stakeholders

You are expected to build strong relationships and maintain a visible presence with multiple stakeholder groups as a representative of own department, ensuring each groups’ needs are being understood and supported by the other.You are proactive and act as a representative of the department on working groups or core teams for one or multiple lines of business managed by our team

Process driven:

You continuously seek new ways of working to make processes run more effectively (create and manage operating and commercial models)You can anticipate and recognize bottlenecks in work processes between teams and proactively identifies areas for improvement and/or automation.

And finally: outstanding commercial relationship management, technical and financial acumen, attention to details, adaptable and willing to learn.

Experience and qualifications:

5 years + experience in the travel industryGlobal travel industry experience and GDS/CRS/connectivity or travel distribution knowledge. Knowledge of Expedia systems, technology and processes is a big plus.You have experience in managing commercial relationships including contracting processes and negotiations.Able to influence decisions and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, in English.Willing to travel (including internationally) and adapt to work on different time zones as part of a global team, working with global partners.The ability to work autonomously, devise and document processes. The drive to learn new concepts and new lines of business.Excellent prioritization skillsets, analytical and critical thinking skills, including demonstrated general problem-solving skills and an intense curiosity to identify emerging business trends and ensuing needsStrong interpersonal skills, and experience in working in international and multicultural environments. Fluent in English (Read, Written, Spoken)

The total cash range for this position in Miami and Dallas is $127,500.00 to $178,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $204,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle and Austin is $137,000.00 to $191,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $219,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $127,500.00 to $178,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $204,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
