Truck Driver, Heavy (Ammo Delivery)

Responsibilities

The Heavy Truck Driver primarily transports, loads, unloads, stacks and stages ammunition, including rockets and ammunition residue.

This driver may load or unload truck with forklift or other material handling equipment.

Reviews paperwork and conducts inventory to ensure accuracy of load. Ensures loads are properly secured and the truck is properly placarded.

Conducts daily vehicle inspections to ensure it is safe to transport ammunition. Makes minor mechanical, operator-level repairs to keep truck in good working order and reports deficiencies.

Qualifications

Commercial Driver’s License w/ Hazmat Endorsement.

4+ years truck driving experience.

Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC.

Ability to receive a favorable T1 investigation determination upon hire.

Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

Ability to complete Ammunition Courses: AMMO 75, 112, 67, 45, 31, 63, 68, and 64.

Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, climbing, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Must be willing to work in all types of weather.

Desired Qualifications:

Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures.

U.S. Army 88M series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent.

DOT accident-free record.

Drug free work ethic, with random urinalysis support.

2+ forklift experience.

Physical Demands:

Heavy Truck Driver: Straight truck, over 4 tons, usually 10 wheels.

Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, inclement weather conditions, and areas with chemical or biological agents.

Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.

Must wear steel toe/safety shoes at all times.

Pay Rate:

Hourly Compensation: $22.33.
