Summary:

Operate Class 8 Tractor Trailer in a safe and efficient manner in a variety of different situations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Operate Class 8 Tractor Trailer pulling lowboy and stepdeckLoad/unload heavy equipment and material correctly and efficientlyBe able to secure heavy equipment and material to trailer per federal load securement regulationsDeliver equipment and materials to company job sites as directed.Pick-up and deliver heavy equipment and materials to jobsites from vendors as directed.Perform visual inspections and note conditions of vehicles driven using the “Vehicle Inspection Checklist”.Ensure all safety guidelines are followed

Education and Experience:

Experience with heavy equipment haulingHave a class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsementsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be able to safely and efficiently maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positionsMust be able to back trucks and trailers safely and proficientlyMust be capable of operating the assigned truck in a safe manner so as not to jeopardize his safety, the safety of others around him and all other related equipmentMust be able to drive a truck with a clutchMust be able to strap and secure items loaded on truckMust be able to maintain high level of awareness for a busy project work environmentMust be able to stoop and bend as requiredMust be able to maintain physical strength and staminaMust be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 poundsMust be able to coordinate the movements of eyes, hands, and feetMust be able to use arms, hands, and legs fullyMust be able to maintain three points of contact while entering, exiting, or inspecting equipmentMust be able to sit for long periods in equipment while traveling over rough terrainMust be able to do a competent inspection of the truck including fluidsMust be able to understand directions/instructions on methods/process to do workMust have basic knowledge of proper operating procedures of multiple types of trucksMust have a valid drivers license
