Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced 310T Mechanic to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy-duty trucks and equipment used in our metal recycling operations. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety.

What you’re responsible for:

Performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, loaders, forklifts, and other equipment used in metal recycling operationsIdentifying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and implement effective repair solutionsFollowing established maintenance schedules to perform regular servicing, fluid changes, lubrication, and component replacementsConducting major and minor repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake system replacements, and hydraulic system troubleshootingMaintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including service reports, parts usage, and equipment history in compliance with regulatory requirementsAdhering to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices in the shop and field environmentsCoordinating with the Parts Department to order necessary parts, track inventory levels, and ensure the availability of required components for repairs and maintenance

Qualifications

To join our team:

Valid 310T Truck and Coach License Experience as a 310T Mechanic, preferably in a heavy-duty trucking or maintenance environmentKnowledge of heavy-duty truck and equipment components, including engines, transmissions and diagnosisExcellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detailAbility to work independently and efficiently manage time and workloadExperience in the metal recycling industry is an assetMust have your own set of hand tools
