**Job Title: Truck Technician / Mechanic** **Job Description** As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for building and assembling dump truck units, platform units, and other related components. You will also troubleshoot and install electrical systems, including inverters and strobe lights. This role requires a strong aptitude for learning and training others, as well as basic knowledge in light fabrication and welding. Additionally, you will be expected to mount service bodies and have an intermediate knowledge of Reading products. **Responsibilities** + Build and assemble dump truck units + Build and assemble platform units + Troubleshoot and install electrical systems + Wire inverters greater than 1500 watts + Wire and install strobe lights + Learn and train others on various builds + Perform light fabrication and welding tasks + Mount service bodies + Install basic electric systems **Essential Skills** + Experience in production and general production + Ability to perform heavy lifting + Proficiency in electrical assembly and wiring + Basic mechanical knowledge + Basic welding skills (MIG) + Knowledge of hydraulics + Ability to operate power hand tools and possess basic tools + Low voltage wiring (12V) + Mechanical aptitude + Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and order sheets + Willingness to learn and work in a shop environment **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in metal fabrication and/or stick welding + Experience in mechanical assembly within a production environment, metal shop, or automotive industry **Work Environment** + You will be working in a large body shop retrofitting work truck vehicles - that is not climate-controlled, similar to an auto-body shop.
