**Job Title: Truck Technician**
**Job Description**
We are an industry leader in commercial truck modification, specializing in transforming standard new trucks into custom auto transport trucks, steering conversions for municipal operations, and various work trucks. At our Charlotte headquarters, we work with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Volvo, Freightliner, Peterbilt, and Ford. We are looking to expand our team with skilled Truck Technicians.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform extensive assembly modification work based on printed picture work instructions.
+ Start on basic lines, installing a second steering wheel and performing basic modifications.
+ Use hand and impact tools throughout the day.
+ Conduct electrical routing, primarily plug and play based on work instructions.
+ Work in various stages of the truck modification process, from decontenting to final assembly.
+ Perform modifications in single build bays or single stall setups, focusing on tasks like wire routing, steering conversions, suspension swaps, hydraulic AWD setups, and PTO installations.
+ Handle transmission dropping, installation of pre-fabricated parts, and suspension spring swapping in VPD stalls.
+ Participate in paint shop tasks, focusing on body work and full cab masking and painting.
**Essential Skills**
+ Heavy truck experience.
+ Transmission pulling/swapping.
+ Suspension change experience.
+ Automotive or heavy truck experience.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Rebuilding transmission experience.
+ Wiring experience (plug and play).
+ Body work and paint experience.
+ Hot rod/classic car experience is a plus.
+ Mechanical/technical experience in automotive service and assembly in manufacturing.

**Work Environment**
First shift hours are from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime extending to 4:00 PM on weekdays and occasional Saturday work. Our facility is very clean and organized, although it is not climate controlled. You may work independently in some departments or as part of a small team of 2-3 people in others. Safety is a priority, and proper safety shoes or boots are required.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mt. Holly, North Carolina.
