Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 50 law firm, is seeking a talented and highly motivated Trust & Estate Planning Associate Attorney to join its Estate Planning Practice Group in Dallas. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in sophisticated estate planning, trust administration, and wealth management to work with high-net-worth individuals, businesses, and charitable organizations.
Candidate Profile: JD from an ABA-approved law school with a strong academic record. Active Bar Admission in Texas. Timely admission to the Texas Bar will be a condition of employment. 3–5 years of substantive experience in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and tax planning. Extensive experience drafting complex estate plans, including business succession planning documents for high-net-worth individuals. Strong knowledge of income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping tax planning strategies. Experience handling probate proceedings for both taxable and non-taxable estates. Familiarity with preparing and processing Federal gift and estate tax returns. Expertise in structuring charitable giving plans and advising tax-exempt organizations. Undergraduate degree in Accounting or a graduate degree in Tax is highly preferred. Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities: Advise high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and charitable organizations on comprehensive estate planning and wealth transfer strategies. Draft sophisticated estate planning and business succession documents, including wills, trusts, and charitable giving instruments. Counsel clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues. Assist with estate and trust administration, including probate proceedings and tax compliance. Process and review Federal gift and estate tax returns. Collaborate with a highly skilled legal team to provide innovative and customized estate planning solutions.
