At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Test Engineer Advisor supporting the FDA contract in the Technology Shared Services (TSS) group, you will be trusted to perform testing of Appian software.
Position is Hybrid 2x per month in Rockville, MD. Position is moving to Gaithersburg, MD at the end of the year and will also require 2x per month.
HOW THE TEST ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Design and develop test and testing requirements for products, systems, software and/or related technology using independent judgementPartner with applicable technology teams to determine testing parametersWrite test plans and create test cases for product(s)Conduct quality assurance and design performance tests using established testing proceduresPartner with other department engineers and developers in creating practical test demonstrations for proposed technologyProvide troubleshooting for moderately complex testing errors and streamline testing proceduresEnsure testing methodology and procedures meet company and industry standardsBuild and execute automated testsPrepare reports and advanced analysis for testingMaintain current knowledge of relevant technology and best practices relevant to the industryProvides guidance and leadership to less experienced personnelMay serve as a team or task leader (not a people manager)Participate in Agile software development initiatives (standup, planning, grooming, estimation) to support innovation and enhancement of applications through iteration/functionality testingParticipate and collaborate with team members to assess Story Point/complexity efforts (using best practices) to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance CriteriaCollaborate with team members (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Software Developers) to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases through selected toolsetsDevelop and document end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system (ServiceNow Test Management/JIRA)Provide early exploratory testing during the development phaseDesign, code and deploy automated test scriptsMaintain test documentation, provide support to government test organization, evaluate test results, and provide feedback in a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery PipelineWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Master's degree with 8 years of experience Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience, Associates' degree with 12 years' experience or 14 years of experience with no degree Must have significant experience testing AppianProficient in the different software testing methodologiesConceptual knowledge on Agile integration - working as part of an Agile team utilizing Scrum or KanbanKnowledge of various SDLC methodologiesAbility to test application developed with commercial-off-the-shelf productsAbility to interact effectively with customers and stakeholdersAbility to work independently under limited supervision and as part of a larger teamAbility to manage multiple task assignmentsCollaborative - team player who works well with customers and colleagues at all levelsQuality and Detail focusedAbility to obtain and maintain FDA Public Trust ClearancePREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
