Tug Boat Captain
**Requisition ID: 164935** **Requirements** + Valid Transport Canada Certified Captains License <65t to <150t + Valid Driver’s license + MED + Must be able to tolerate vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels + Work will frequently require individuals to push, pull, bend or stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders + Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts up to 50 lbs unassisted + Performs other duties as required **Position Summary** A Tug Boat Captain is responsible for transport, crew, visitors, vendors and supplies in a safe and timely manner. Support marine construction activities by supporting marine fleet of equipment during construction activities. **Experience Level** Lead hand experience required. **Primary Responsibilities and Duties** + Operate marine tug vessel safely and effectively to support marine construction activities + Maintain and clean the interior and exterior of the boat + Check oil levels in engine, clutches and generators + Check bilge for water/oil and remove in accordance with TC and company policy + Check motor support brackets, alternator belts, stuffing box, all hoses and clamps + Check exhaust manifold for leaks + Keep accurate daily logs and maintain record books + Change oil/fuel filters per maintenance schedule + Check and inspect all lighting and fire extinguishers + Ensure that the proper amount of safety equipment is onboard + Transfer fuel and comply with safe fuel transfer procedures + Follows all company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an “No Body Gets Hurt” work environment **Qualifications** + Ability to work 50-hour work week + Ability to work both day and night shifts + Ability to understand hand signals + Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with craft workers under his/her supervision and management/supervision **Additional Information** Pay: $41.23 per hour Expected hours: No less than 50 per week Schedule: Day/Night shift _We believe in equal opportunity in employment practices without discrimination, and comply with all laws regarding human rights in the provinces where we operate._ Company: McNally
